Kuda Laut is a Mentawai Surf Charter vessel to the World Famous Mentawai Islands and Beyond. She’s one of the only original boats left from the pioneering days up here and one of the best value for money trips going. The Kuda Laut has been doing charters to the Mentawais, Telos, Nias and Banyak Islands for over 25 seasons – so we know how to find the best waves with the least crowds in Sumatra, from the Lagundry Bay in Nias, the Hinakos, to the Bay of Plenty in the Banyaks, to the Telos long rights, also the famous waves in the Mentawais, such as Rifles, No Kandui, Ebay, etc in the Playground, to Telescopes, Bintang, Lances Right, Lances Left, Maccas, Rags, Thunders, Green Bush, Mcfrights and much, much more!!! She is the perfect charter boat for smaller groups with a friendly and helpful crew that will provide you with a great atmosphere during the trip. Kuda Laut is a 58-foot wooden motorsailer built from Sumatran iron wood. she was given a very extensive refit last year and is now looking better than ever. She has a large air conditioned 8 berth cabin with clean shower and toilet facilities and a 12 KVA Onan generator supplying 240v AC and 12v DC. We also include the following equipment to keep you entertained while you’re not taking shelter under the crisp barrels the Mentawai islands offer: Snorkeling gear, Trawling rods, popping gear and plenty of hand fishing lines, stereo, 34 inch Flat screen TV & DVD player For your safety we also include the following equipment: Garmin GPS, Furuno 16 mile Radar, Furuno depth sounder, Fishfinder, SSB and VHS radios, EPIRB, 2 compass, Life Jackets & Safety Rings, Fire Extinguishers, Two anchors, Complete medical and first aid kit, Satellite Phone with email capabilities.
